Public Helping Law Enforcement Officer

Would you help an Officer in Duress? Would you help if you see a suspect overpowering an officer of the law?

Safety in the workplace

Greetings all. This is a safety question. What would you do if you see a co-worker not personal protective equipment? Would you report it to your supervisor or would you confront the co-worker?

mixed marriage

Hi, I am Bernie. I am from Dominican Republic and my wife is Filipina. Our kids came out really good looking. I am the only one in my family who married a difference race. Do you agree that mixed marriages get along better? I do.

A joyful Dominican-Filipina family

Greetings. I am Bernie. I am a married safety professional with two beautiful kids (a girl name Bernadette and a boy named Jonathan). My wife and I have been married for 8 years and it has been wonderful throughout. I am so happy to have found my other half all the way across the world in the Phillipines. You might be ask yourself at this moment, "what in the world was a Dominican doing all the way in the Phillipines?" Well, I have been in the U.S. Navy for almost 19 years now and I was stationed in Japan where I had the opportunity to go on vacation to meet my great partner and best friend (my wife Jessiette) in the Phillipines. Besides being in the military for 19 years, I also have dedicated myself to the safety profession. I have 7 years of safety experience and I have a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and health with a concentration in Environmental Management. I also have completed more than 50 courses online and classrooms to keep up to date on new OSHA standards and also advance in my profession. Right now, I am one point short of passing the CSP certification exam. This certification is the highest certification you can earn in the safety field. My journey is not over. Upon retiring from the military, I plan to continue with the safety profession and make a difference in the civilian sector. At this moment, I am an Engineering Safety and ORM instructor preparing officers to serve at sea as Engineers and Afloat Safety Officers. My next and last tour in the Navy will take me to Diego Garcia where I will spend one year and then retire from a successful 20 years in the Navy. I hope you all like my blog and I look forward to hearing discussion about safety, environmental, engineering, and law enforcement.
